The work has grown out of a narrative that is intertwined with the travels of the artist. A sort of conscious seeking to find fleeting moments especially those found in the natural landscape. The memories of these places are then mined and translated into artifact like objects which have come out of a systemic approach to mark making and patterning that through its organic imperfection allows for the artists intuitive hand to be visible within the work. The work straddles the line between the interior and exterior world as well as the internal and external psychological space of “being”. This existential duality is also reflective in how the artist chooses to display their work both in controlled gallery spaces of the art world and outdoors susceptible to the natural elements.
